Leaf Blower Trade-In Week!

The City of Hyattsville is phasing in a ban on gas-powered leaf blowers, taking effect in August 2024. Currently, residents and landscape contractors can receive up to a 50% rebate on the purchase of an electric leaf blower when they trade in their gas-powered ones! Trade-in’s will take place from November 13 – 16 at the DPW Operations Center, 4633 Arundel Place, between 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Bring your empty gas-powered blowers and proof of purchase of an electric model to be eligible for the rebate.

Creative Minds Fall Session

Creative Minds is a toddler-adult program enriching children through educational & interactive multilingual (English, Spanish, and some American Sign Language) activities and events. Each weekly session introduces participants to movement, art, music, literacy, and free play!

David C. Driskell Community Park Master Planning Session

The City is ready for the next phase of planning for Driskell Park! Join staff from the Neighborhood Design Center at an upcoming meeting to review the Park’s draft Master Plan and refine it based on major themes from the work of David Driskell. Meetings will be held Tuesday, November 14, at the City Building, 4310 Gallatin St., from 6 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 18, at the Driskell Park Recreation Center, 3911 Hamilton St., from 1-3 p.m. No registration is needed, and anyone is welcome to attend! Community members will also be able to contribute virtually via HelloHyattsville.com in the coming days – stay tuned!
