1. Why did you take my trash can?: The Department of Public Works will NEVER remove your garbage can, unless you clearly label it for disposal: "Trash - Please Take." Should your City-issued Toter go missing, please know that while we did not remove it, we will happily replace it. Call 301/985-5032 and leave a message stating your address and how to best reach you during the day.

11. My City-issued refuse cart is missing what should I do?: First check and see if your neighbors have your cart. Each cart has a unique serial number. If after checking with your neighbors the refuse cart is not located please report that it has been stolen to the Hyattsville City Police non-emergency number, 301-985-5060.
