Affordable Housing Strategy

The City of Hyattsville’s Affordable Housing Strategy is being developed by Enterprise Community Partners, whose mission is to create opportunity for low- and moderate-income people through affordable housing in diverse, thriving communities.

This strategy will be completed in two complementary phases. Phase 1 is designed to provide the City a housing action agenda that aligns City goals over a ten-year period with a prioritized menu of tools and supportive information for implementation, including case studies on national best practices. With the identified tools, the City will be positioned to make budgetary recommendations to advance affordable housing.

Phase 2 will focus on turning those tools that were identified in Phase 1 into reality. Tasks will be supported by ongoing coordination with the City while also leveraging qualitative and quantitative research. Phase 2 is scheduled to be complete in December 2020.

The Enterprise Team conducted a virtual Open Forum on June 9, 2020. You may view the English virtual open forum presentation and/or the Spanish virtual open forum version. To view the recording of the Open House Forum, please click on the thumbnail video below.
