Hyattsville Crossing Business Improvement District

The City of Hyattsville has recently completed a feasibility study for implementing a Business Improvement District (BID) within the Hyattsville Crossing area (Prince George's Plaza Metro, Mall at Prince George, and University Town Center area).

A Business Improvement District (BID) is an economic development tool that allows a geographic cluster of commercial property owners to collectively invest in activities that improve economic vitality. In Hyattsville Crossing, a BID will support unified economic development and job growth, providing additional cleaning and maintenance, marketing, events, and programming.

UPDATE: MARCH 2023

The Maryland House of Delegates is currently considering HB 1109, a bill authorizing Prince George's County or a municipal corporation in Prince George's County to create certain business improvement districts; requiring the county or a municipal corporation in the county to adopt certain local laws to provide for the creation and organization of a district.

The BID bill, HB 1109, is having its hearing before the House Environment and Transportation Committee on Friday, March 10 at 1pm. Click here to see the full bill.

The Hyattsville Crossing BID Feasibility Study was presented to City Council on May 2, 2022. Click below to see the presentation.
