Why did you take my trash can?
The Department of Public Works will NEVER remove your garbage can, unless you clearly label it for disposal: "Trash - Please Take." Should your City-issued Toter go missing, please know that while we did not remove it, we will happily replace it. Call 301/985-5032 and leave a message stating your address and how to best reach you during the day.

How do I schedule to have my refrigerator, hot water heater, stove, or other appliance picked up?
Contact the Department of Public Works at 301-985-5032 to schedule your pick up.

My City-issued refuse cart is missing what should I do?
First check and see if your neighbors have your cart. Each cart has a unique serial number. If after checking with your neighbors the refuse cart is not located please report that it has been stolen to the Hyattsville City Police non-emergency number, 301-985-5060. After you have reported it stolen use the Request a refuse Cart Form to request another refuse cart.
