City of Hyattsville residents living in townhomes, condominiums, and apartments who have bulk trash items can drop them off in either Magruder Park or at the Jefferson Street parking lot on Saturday, August 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until container capacities are reached!
FREE OF CHARGE, the City will accept mattresses, box springs, chairs, dressers, tables, room doors, grills, swings, patio furniture, cabinets, entertainment centers, bathtubs, sinks, toilets, sofas, lawnmowers with no gas inside, and empty/dry paint cans (no liquid inside cans). The City of Hyattsville is offering a free, virtual Mental Health First Aid class on Saturday, August 22 from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. Mental Health First Aid teaches you to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Learn new skills and become certified to provide initial support to someone in need and help them connect to appropriate care.
Classes are limited to 10 students so sign up today! There will be a waiting list for future sessions. Participants are required to complete two hours of online, self-paced training prior to the 5-hour instructor-led course on August 22.
