Camp Online

Enrichment out-of-school program for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade online

The Department of Community Services provides Camp Online as an extension of our camp programs when we cannot meet in person. The online camp allows children and their families to engage in activities adapted to do at home. Activities will be a combination of craft and STEM projects, in addition to active play and special events.

Summer Camp Online 2020

The online summer camp will be comprised of free live virtual programing meeting at various times on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. There are several weekly classes, on-going activities, special events, and virtual field trips throughout the summer. Families are encouraged to sign up for as many programs as desired. Active Activities

Every Monday at 11:00 am, join us live for active playing. The goal is to keep your mind fresh and work on hand-eye coordination skills. This is also an opportunity to connect with friends. (Materials for activities will be distributed.)

Cool Crafty Campers 

Join us every other Wednesday at 11:00 am for a live arts & crafts tutorial. Create a landscape using materials found in nature, learn watercolor techniques, make finger puppets to do a teensy show, and build a mini-boat to go on pirate adventures this summer! (Art supplies will be distributed.)

Kids Yoga by Love Yoga

Summer Camp Online is happy to partner with Hyattsvile’s very own Love Yoga. Join us every other Friday at 11:30 am and become a little yogi. In this class you’ll explore and learn about yoga poses all while having fun.

Freeze Dance with DJ Baspy 

Get your dance shoes on and get ready to dance with DJ Baspy, one of our very own Youth Program Coordinators. Let’s keep our bodies moving! DJ Baspy had the pleasure of performing during our Spring Camp Online Zoom Party, and we are excited to have him back for two separate occasions. 

Bilingual Online Family Theatre by Teatro La Bolsa

The VirtuArtBag series continues this summer! Discover Colombia’s culture and folklore during Colombia en 3 colores, and enjoy a fun performance of La gallina y la arepa de maíz. Join us for one or both shows.

Book Reading: Andres and His Rubik’s Cube

Join us as author Andrea Alvarez reads her book Andres and His Rubik’s Cube Madness.

Virtual Field Trips

Maryland Science Center 

One of the oldest scientific institutions in Maryland and the Nation, where you can enjoy learning about astronomy to paleontology. The Science Center is packed with innovative exhibits that demonstrate the wonders of scientific discovery with a focus on open-ended exploration. We are excited to have the Maryland Science Center provide a virtual field trip and/or activity for our campers!

Drew Blue Shoes 

DC’s favorite Blue Shoed Magician, Drew Blue Shoes joins our Camp once again. Having been studying magic for 15 years, Drew’s magic shows are sure to make a magical connection with the whole family. This will be a fun event, don’t miss out! 

Petting ZoOnline

Say hello to your favorite animal friends during a virtual live petting zoo experience with Squeals on Wheels!
