Starting at 8 a.m., the Hyattsville Elementary School PTA is hosting fund-raising fun runs of 5 kilometers, 1 mile and 1 kilometer. The courses start and end in Magruder Park and loop through nearby City streets. To register, please visit: http://hyattsvillees-pta.org/zombierun/

The Zombie Run will require the temporary closing of streets and the prohibition of street parking between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Residents who live along the course are asked to park their vehicles in their driveways or on a street not included in the course. The City's residential parking restrictions will be suspended in the race area on Saturday.
Driving across or along the course will be allowed by course marshals when runners are NOT present, but residents should expect short delays because of this. Also, motorists on Route 1/Baltimore Ave. will not be allowed to turn west on Jefferson Street from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
FestivitiesFrom 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Roustabouts will be playing live, the Urban Bumpkin BBQ food truck will be on site, and Calvert Brewing will sell beer. Visitors can also talk to race vendors and sponsors, participate in zumba and tai-chi demonstrations, and more.
Cyclocross - Open Course
Also from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the organizers of the next day's competitive off-road bike race will open their course for anyone to try, free of charge. Bring your own bike and helmet.

Route 1 Velo hosts this annual off-road bicycle race through Magruder Park and Woods to benefits Special Olympics of Prince George's County. Register to compete, or come out to watch and enjoy the festivities - which will include Franklins beer, Charm City mead, Hardy's BBQ food truck, Vigilante Coffee, Acme Pie and Shortcake Bakery.
