Drinking Water Safety

Hyattsville residents and businesses receive their water from the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). In light of the lead contamination in the water in Flint, Michigan, WSSC has shared the links below. They state that our water comes from the Patuxent and Potomac rivers, is filtered and tested, and that none of our water has more than trace levels of lead. Further, WSSC states that while water delivery pipes on private property may be made of lead, none of the WSSC-owned pipes are made of lead. Please see the links below for more detailed information.
