Prince George's Plaza Transit District Development Plan
The Prince George’s Plaza Transit District Development Plan (TDDP) was first created in 1998 to enhance development opportunities and promote transit use at the Prince George’s Plaza Metro station. The Prince George’s County Planning Department is in the process of updating the Transit District Development Plan (TDDP) for Prince George’s Plaza. On December 3, 2015, the Prince George’s County Planning Board adopted the 2015 Adopted Prince George’s Plaza Transit District Development Plan and to endorse the Proposed Transit District Overlay Zoning Map (TDOZ) Amendment. On July 19, 2016, the Prince George's County District Council approved the TDDP/TDOZ, making it effective immediately. The approved plan can be found here.
The TDDP update makes land use and urban design recommendations that promote transit oriented development (TOD), provide the background necessary to create a multimodal transportation network and create policies and recommendations to guide future (re)development within the limits of the project boundary. The update to the TDDP was a collaborative effort with Prince George’s County Planning Department, the City of Hyattsville and the Town of University Park with significant involvement from area residents, business owners and other key stakeholders.
More information about the TDDP can be found on the Prince George’s County Planning Department’s project page.
