Prince George's County collects recycling in the City of Hyattsville. How to Recycle
Glass, plastic, metal, and paper can all be recycled. (For a more detailed list of acceptable items, click here.) You do not need to separate the materials, and can place them all in the same blue bin. Then put the bin at the curb on your recycling pickup day by 6:30 a.m.

Back Yard Compost
The City has a supply of back yard compost bins available to residents free of charge. To request a bin, please contact the Department of Public Works at 301-985-5032. Please note that the City will not pick up your compost. These bins are for residents that wish to make and use their own compost.
