The City is in the process of upgrading streetlights. Here is map of phases 1 and 2 of the project.
The vast majority of the public lights throughout the City are maintained by Pepco. However, some are maintained by the City, including the following:

Pedestrian/Street Lights
The City maintains the decorative pedestrian lights at these locations:
- Municipal Building
- 3400 block of Hamilton St.
- 3000 and 3100 blocks of Hamilton St. (between Queens Chapel Rd. and Ager Rd.), north side of street only
- Route 1 from Farragut St. to Hamilton St.
- On the sign-wall (five lights) located at the intersection of US Route 1 and Alternate US Route 1 and on the underside of the Alternate US Route 1 Bridge (three lights), which provide lighting to a section of City Lot #1.
Park Lights
The City maintains park lights at these locations:
- Magruder Park located at 40th Ave. and Hamilton St. (The city does not maintain the lights at the pool or the pool parking lot..)
- McClanahan Park located at Oliver St. and 36th Ave.
- Centennial Park located on Baltimore Ave. and Hamilton St.
- Robert J. King Memorial Park located on Gallatin St. at 42nd Pl.

To report an outage of a non-City light, please contact:
- For street lights: Pepco, (877) 737-2662. Be prepared to provide the address, pole type (wood or metal) and pole number.
- For Hamilton Pool lights: Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, (301) 699-2255.
